Knockan Crag is situated thirteen miles north of Ullapool and contains the Rock Room – an unattended open air visitor centre with information panels describing the history and geology of the local landscape.
There is also an interpretative trail where you can visit the rock formation known as the Moine Thrust and learn how the landscape was formed. The trail then leads up above the crags to take in breathtaking views of the Coigach and Assynt hills. The walk takes approximately an hour to complete and brings you back to the car park.
