Stoer Coastal Walk
May 18, 2022 @ 11:00 - 15:00
FreeJoin us on this Ranger led guided walk along the cliff top from Stoer green, near Lochinver. With amazing views over the Minch we will be looking for whales and dolphins. This is also a great place for coastal plants including the rare pyramidal bugle, early orchids, mountain everlasting as well as birds such as the great skua (or bonxie), raves and black guillemot. We will examine the site where Europe’s largest meteorite crashed to earth and see some ancient sheilings where people tended their cattle during the summer months. We will follow a faint path, which is steep in places. Total distance 4km. Bring packed lunch. Meet at Stoer Cemetery car park on the B869. Grid reference NC040 282
