The Geopark is setting up a Business Partnership, allowing businesses across the whole area to work together. We are holding a series of meetings across the whole Geopark to launch the idea, from Tongue to Coigach. Come and help set the objectives, and agree what would be useful to work on together.

Meeting in the Kyle Centre at 3.30pm

One of the Geopark’s UNESCO objectives is to develop the local economy through sustainable tourism. “Sustainable” means slow tourism, where visitors stay long enough to enjoy themselves instead of leaving a whoosh noise and a trail of exhaust fumes.

We are building a strong brand for the Geopark, so people have a clear idea of what is here, how good it is and why they need to come. Themes already identified are:

• promoting businesses across the whole Geopark effectively
• a Geofood trail where we can promote catering establishments, accommodation providers, producers and other outlets using good local produce
• a Geoart and Geocraft trail, helping visitors find their way to studios, workshops and retail outlets
• joint lobbying on behalf of all Geopark businesses where the need arises
