NORTH WEST HIGHLANDS UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARK

Did you know the North West Highlands Geopark was the first UNESCO Global Geopark in Scotland?

We are now one of 58 UNESCO sites in the UK and part of Scotland’s National UNESCO Trail. Scotland is the first country in the world to bring together 13 UNESCO sites into one trail. Are you ready to discover the wonders within?

NEW AUDIO GUIDES FOR THE ROCK ROUTE

The Rock Route is a series of 14 information panels located throughout the North West Highlands Geopark starting from Ullapool in the south to Loch Eriboll on the north coast.

The panels are located at strategic viewpoints to highlight key geological features and provide a  description of how this unique landscape was formed.

To enhance this experience a series of new audio guides are now available for each of the 14 stops on the Rock Route.

The audio guides are between 5 and 10 minutes long and give a further interpretation of the landscape by the resident Geopark geologist, Pete Harrison.

Please be aware that the mobile signal can vary in the Geopark depending on which network you are on. To avoid any disappointment you can download all the Rock Route Audio guides and take them with you on your mobile device to listen at the relevant locations.

For more details on the location of the information panels and to access or download the audio guides please click on the button below.
